Damo And The Dynamites is a rock’n’roll outfit playing a great assortment of classic dance music from the 1950s plus some revival stuff from the 1980s, and a sprinkling of original songs. We use the classic three-piece line-up: a box guitar and a double bass with drums driving them on.
Formed in 2018, we have played hundreds of gigs in pubs, clubs, at open-air festivals and at private functions – we are highly experienced at playing both indoors and out, at sensible volumes. As a 3-piece we take up a surprisingly small space and we can play in pretty much any room.
We are happy to organise our setlist to favour either rock ‘n’ roll or rockabilly, should the venue or the audience have a clear preference for either. (In general we offer a mixture with preference given to the best known rock ‘n’ roll hits.)
Unless otherwise instructed, we play recorded 1950s music on our PA starting 30 minutes before the gig and during any breaks.
We perform with our stage amps being fed through a high quality PA system to maintain tight control of volume (at any level the venue wants); to ensure perfect balance and a good sound in the room, we bring our own sound engineer to every gig.
Live video and audio recordings, on this page and everywhere else, are taken directly from our live performances and are not ‘doctored’ in any way. We are a period-correct 1950s act and we deliberately avoid exceedingly glossy video work. What you see in our live videos is exactly what happens at our live gigs, filmed on 4 or 5 separate mini cameras and mixed in a DAW. No studio work has been involved at any point. We are keen to show potential clients and venues what we really look and sound like while on stage in front of a real audience.
We are based in Harrow, NW London, but are happy to travel as far as the right gig takes us.
We take social media seriously and will happily collaborate with any venue or promoter in spreading the news across platforms. We video all our gigs, and the best footage makes it onto YouTube (by permission, where appropriate).
